Three bros. One thousand kilometres. One month.
After 2020 invited the community into the kilometre count, 2021 turned the challenge back onto Matt, Dan and Luke: together, run 1,000km through Movember.

The previous year had been about everyone contributing whatever kilometres they could. In 2021 the premise changed: Matt, Dan and Luke would shoulder the 1,000km themselves while growing the moes and raising money and awareness for men's health.
The surviving Movember team page sums it up perfectly: “3 bros growing moes whilst running 1000km.”

$3,951 is the amount visible in the archived team screenshot. We have not assumed it was the absolute final fundraising total.

Matt's final recorded total was 503.3km. The archived stats show 41:27:08 of moving time, 43:50:51 elapsed and 4,290m of elevation gain.
The last 5K was anything but ceremonial: the Strava post records a 16:49 5K effort on a favourable course. It was a pretty ridiculous way to close a month already packed with kilometres.

On 27 November, the three took on a single 43,700 metre run. At the time, the number was chosen to represent the men they understood had been lost to suicide globally during the month of November.
The archived post makes the intention clear: turn a confronting number into something physical, visible and difficult, then use it to raise awareness and funds for men's health.
This archive preserves the wording and significance used in the original 2021 posts. Historical statistics are presented here as part of the challenge's original context rather than as a current global suicide statistic.

The run was recorded across two activities after a watch ended the first workout early. The surviving story shows 5.9km followed by 39.1km and documents the three bros out there together.
“43,700m: the distance we set out to run in the name of men's health.”
One of Matt's posts from the month asked exactly why BrosWithMoes kept taking these challenges on. The answer was about changing the stigma around men expressing their feelings and mental-health struggles, treating mental health as seriously as physical health, and making sure the people around us know there is someone they can talk to.
Another post looked back on Matt's own health journey and how exercise, health and fitness had helped him look after both body and mind. The challenge became a way to invite other people in: donate if you can, or simply come for a run and help keep the boys going.

The archive isn't only screenshots and totals. It's cooked shoes, sweaty night runs, moustaches, sore legs, mates beside you and getting out the door again when the month has already taken plenty out of you.

By the end of November the checklist was complete: raise money, raise awareness, run 500km personally, crush 1,000km together, and complete the 43,700m For Every Bro run.
The team total visible in the archive finished at 1,176km, which was 176 kilometres beyond the original target.
